Inlay and Cleaning of Membranes

The EDR is much less susceptible to fouling, and when it does, makes it easy to clean and reuse. Because it is a process with backwash, there is no need for continuous application of antifouling and water suitability for this purpose. The membranes not washed with NaCl in long periods, which greatly reduces the operational cost.

The loss of production in the OI system is closely linked to the deposit of waste in its membranes, being totally discarded and generating a high operating cost. The cleaning of the membranes in the OI system should be periodic with the application of antifouling and water softening with chemical additives. In this way, it is considered a high operational cost.

Environmental Issue

EDR appliances do not use external additives to the system, which works with the use of low voltage electrical voltage for water treatment, considering an environmentally friendly technology.

From the ecological point of view, the addition of chemicals to treated water in the OI units inevitably leads to environmental contamination and deterioration of the quality of water produced.
